About Jeremy
Jeremy R. Gilby was born in 1974
He’s been a Republican since 1980 (You can blame Ronald Wilson Reagan for that) (Yes, if you do the math, Jeremy was 6 at the time)
Jeremy likes to consider himself a Libertarian, but if you ask him, he thinks the Libertarian party is a bunch of anarchist cooks, so he’s a Registered Republican instead.
Above All, he believes the Government should do two things:
- Protect the Innocent
- Punish the Evildoer
This means he does not approve of Government in control of Economic issues
Nor does he approve of Government control of Social Issues (but not so much)
His Political Doctrine comes from several sources
- The Bible
- The writings of John Locke
- The Federalist Papers
- The Declaration of Independence
- The United States Constitution and surrounding documents
When it comes to the Constitution, Jeremy is a strict constructionalist.
When it comes to Defense, Jeremy is not an isolationist, and believes it is in the United States’ best interest to have a global presence as a Super Power in a troubled world. (Though this does not just rest in the defense/military sphere. This means the United States needs to lead in technology, science, economincs, and culture.)
When it comes to the Economy, Jeremy prefers little-to-no government control. (This means low taxes, low tarrifs, no Labor Unions, no nothing.)
When it coms to social issues, Jeremy would prefer to not have laws banning harmful behaviors. But he knows there are evil people in the world, and the innocent need protection.
On a personal level, Jeremy lives in Tucson Arizona; and came of age in Philadelphia-Area Pennsylvania. He studied Astronomy and Physics at the University of Arizona, and is currently a professional geek in a not-so-small software company. He is 6′4″ short and wears dark socks.
His personal Website is Jeremy-Gilby-dot-com
