From the “Setec Astronomy” Department
I’m in the midst of reading a book by Dan Brown (the writer of the DaVinci Code) and I’m convinced that I never want to read another Dan Brown novel, ever.
Anyways, the book it titled Digital Fortress; I’m only 20% through the book, and I’m sure there are some plot twists awaiting me (I HOPE there are, because the plot and facts are awful!); but the premise is the NSA must deal with an activist coder who creates an unbreakable encryption code.
Now, this is deadly, and will lead to pure anarchy if this is mass produced to everyone-and-their-grandmother, because it will empower criminals and evil-doers to communicate freely, without fear of being uncovered.
As I’m reading this book, it is the EXACT OPPOSITE PLOT of the Movie Sneakers.

The long list of FEMA failures, wastes, and incompetence continues. This one is simply mind-boggling. FEMA is, to me, a great example of why non-security related government agencies should be privatized.
(If this is old news to you, it’s because I thought I had posted this on Tuesday…. grrrr.)

This just is too good to pass up. The president of Iran has a blog now. Lately I’ve been toying with hanging up my blogging shoes and now finding that I share a hobby with the Leader of one corner of the axis of evil may just be the sign I’ve been looking for. Now I’ve seen everything. Can a MySpace account be far behind? Will Al Qaeda start using YouTube to distribute it’s videos?
Here’s a post I translated from one of his recent entries…
Sorry for the lack of posts lately. Just been busy killing zionists and putting White-Out over Israel on all my globes. Ah… such is my so called life. But here’s a cool site to tide you over until I post again. Many thanks, and don’t forget to click my ads.
And just for some color on his readers, I translated some of the comments too…
Badazz32 says: Dude, your blog sucks.
earle says: Nice site guy. Many thanks for your work. Buy Cialis.

You know that rift in American politics? It’s getting wider.
Last night, incumbent Joe Lieberman lost the democratic primary for the Conneticut Senatorial seat to the more liberal Ned Lamont. At the same time, incumbent Michigan Republican Joe Schwartz lost his primary to his more conservative challenger.
I don’t know what else to say… other than “why am I in this handbasket?”
Any takers? Trend or mirage?
